Lot 67

This page is to track the progress of the new house build. We spent 5 months searching for a house, but it proved challenging. Turns out that the housing market is improving, inventory is low, and belongs to the sellers. We saw beat-up foreclosures, over priced tiny houses, and homes with multiple bids already on them. Getting frustrated, our new real estate agent suggested we look a little outside of our original search zone. Low and behold, a small town no-so-far from our current place had brand new construction! We got to pick our lot, house size (go big AND go home!), and several key features. The con was we have to wait a until September October November before we can move. But it gives me a little time to dream, plan, and DIY some projects before the big move. I will update the progress pictures as we go.

Date: September 20, 2013
This date is significant because we were supposed to be moved in by now! But instead the house looks like this. We are hoping and praying to at least spend Thanksgiving in the house since Lil' Bug's first birthday and Halloween are scratched off the list. Fingers crossed...

Good news! The house is SOOOO close to being done, we can taste it! We got to do a walk thru and nit-pick the little details we want fixed. It was great to see it all put together. My decorator wheels are really spinning now. Here's a few shots.

I can almost smell all the holiday baking that will happen here!

Yeah, it faces west. That's a problem. Time to invest in some good window coverings.

Lil'Bug loves to play on those stairs! And I have a lot of painting to do. Gray?

I might actually take a bath here! Bubbles, candles, vino....

The front is plain now, but a little extra landscaping and some porch decor, it'll be all spruced up.

So we are about 3 weeks 'til moving day. I just hope we are settled enough for a Thanksgiving turkey and not just a quick Costco rotisserie chicken!
